Description:
GM Design Group ("GMDG") was a leading designer, marketer and manufacturer
of better-to-bridge and contemporary, career and casual women’s clothing.
The company was headquartered in Edison, NJ and had production and
showroom facilities in New York City. It had built a strong reputation
for providing quality garments focused on comfort and merchandised
around numerous core fabrications designed to drape beautifully and
travel well. Throughout its history, GMDG had expanded its product
lines through acquisition and development to include sportswear,
knits and mass-market apparel, thereby creating a fully diversified
apparel company well positioned for growth.
Falcon Solution:
Falcon and its co-investors backed an existing management team
in acquiring the company from its prior private equity owners
and implemented a strategic vision to grow the business. With
the support of the founder of the company who was supplemented
with a new executive, Falcon structured and led the transaction.
Along with its co-investment partners, Falcon invested in senior
subordinated notes with warrants and common equity. |
